Travel To and From Inverness

Inverness  has a railway station with services to Perth, Edinburgh, Glasgow, London, Aberdeen, Thurso, Wick and to Kyle of Lochalsh. Inverness is connected to London by the Caledonian Sleeper, which departs six times a week and by the Highland Chieftain which runs 7 days a week.

Inverness Airport is located 15 km east of the city and has scheduled flights to airports across the UK including London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Belfast and the islands to the north and west of Scotland.

Three trunk roads (the A9, A82 and A96) provide access to Aberdeen, Perth, Elgin, Thurso, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Inverness Bus Station

Inverness bus station is serves and is situated in the city of Inverness, Scotland. The bus station is managed by the Highland Council.

The bus station is situated at Farralie Park and can be accessed from Academy Street and Margaret Street. It is a short walk away from the Inverness railway station and not far from the main shopping area.

 

Inverness Railway Station

Inverness railway station is the railway station serving the Scottish city of Inverness. Like most stations in the United Kingdom, Inverness is owned by Network Rail. However, it is operated by First ScotRail who run most of the services using the station. East Coast run the only non-First ScotRail service: the daily Highland Chieftain to London King's Cross.

Situated in the Highlands, Inverness Airport (INV) operates as the main entryway to air travel in the North of Scotland. The terminal administrates over 330 scheduled flights per week to a variety of destinations in both Scotland and the UK, with over 558,000 passengers travelling through the terminal per year.

Inverness is the city in the Highlands of Scotland, All main routes through the Highlands pass through here at some point, so it's a hard place to avoid.
